This web site is a work in progress, a combination of data and design, a repository of samples and information, designed to provide an overall framework of skills and experience accumulated. As a part of this concept, links included on the home landing page for "projects", "portfolio" and "experience" all coalesce to a web page nexus and visual representation of major and minor subject areas, tools, platforms and applications that I have worked with. Additional subject areas, images, information and highlights from prior projects are added periodically, often after being rediscovered through new project work or documentation found from previous work.
The overall structure of the web site is relatively simple and easy to maintain. A lightweight base of PHP, HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, Javascript and jQuery was used in the development of the web site, with minimal use of external third party script libraries to reduce loading and content delivery time. Data is served up by a MySQL database and SQL queries through six different tables, designed to conform to third normal form as closely as possible.
Building out from the base colors used within the main name logo or wordmark, complimentary colors were selected to represent the major subject areas areas of design (orange), development (purple), photography (red), along with a few other general items (blue). Three interlocking sizes of tiles were selected to prevent open gaps within the grid as much as possible. Animation and functionality of interactive tiles has been standardized as closely as possible between touch and click events, so as to provide a similar user experience between desktop, laptop, tablets and other mobile devices.
